Splash pad year end dog swim.
I just found out that a place Colorado offers (for a fee) a dog swim at then end of the splash pad season.
It’s become a favourite for dog owners and non pet owners alike.1 vote -

Make Lakeshore downtown “pedestrian only” on the weekend
As of September 2020, Lakeshore East between Reynolds and Allan is finished but not open to vehicles yet and it is wonderful! Families with strollers, couples, shoppers, folks having lunch or even just coffee, are wearing masks and meandering around, enjoying the sunshine and the freedom to experience the city after a long period of lock down. Why not continue beyond the construction completion?

Is it possible for the seven 3-D printers in Oakville Public Libraries to be used to print face shields for Oakville health care workers?
Maybe the librarians that know how to use the seven 3-D printers in Oakville public libraries could print out face shields for Oakville health care workers. Assuming that we have the supplies to do so... See this article: https://www.utoronto.ca/news/u-t-researcher-and-toronto-public-library-form-partnership-make-face-shields-3d-printers .

A community hub in Oak Park
Oak Park is missing civic amenities. I know the area is in between the library and pool at Iroquois Ridge and White Oaks, but there's no public community hub in the area itself that residents could walk to. Would love to have some sort of gathering space as the community continues to evolve as the North's core.

More Desirable Ice Times for evening Pickup Hockey
More Desirable Ice Times for evening Pickup Hockey - Our group of Oakville residents is 50+, still in the workforce, finished with playing league and the only time we can find available ice for pickup hockey in a Town Rink is from 10 pm onwards. Pickup hockey is definitely a proven viable form of recreational hockey too and should be considered when setting arena schedules between 7 and 9:30 pm.

#MyOakville needs more basketball courts!
Only 2 near us, and they are in constant use by teenagers and young men. Younger kids don't get to play!

Hospital Lands Must Have Less Housing and More Community Space
All the options are flawed as there is too little parkland and the development is a much higher density than that of the surrounding neighbourhood. We are in favour of as much parkland as possible and a corresponding decrease in residential. The Recreation Centres in options 2 and 3 appear to be smaller than we would hope for (although option 2 is the most attractive of all the flawed options as it has the lowest density – though still much too high - and largest park – though still much too small).
The part of option 1 which is attractive…2 votes -

Fitness
Why can't the council add fitness areas to the park around town. There are many of us that prefer to be outdoors during the summer time rather than inside a gym. If the town council add an exercise area in the parks more people would be outside!!

A 50m pool for swimmers to train in, and for local events
The swim teams of Oakville have to travel to Hamilton for a 50m pool to train, it would be great if we could have one right in our community. It will attract more swim teams to travel here for national as well as international events.

I would appreciate more street festivals. Pedestrian Sundays on Kerr Street?
Creating a pedestrian friendly street day is a great way to bring communities together and support local talent and businesses.
Like Kensington Market has it's Pedestrian Sundays, Kerr Street could offer one Sunday per month (or to start off even just one pedestrian day per summer) and bring in local entertainment like puppet shows, music bands, outdoor games like giant scrabble or chess, food vendors, etc..6 votes -
I would like to see some of our tennis courts given over to Pickle Ball.
Pickle Ball is the fastest growing sport in North America. It is easy to learn by young and old alike, and provides a good fun work out using a Pickle Ball bat and a wiffle ball. It is played on a badminton court using a tennis net. Lines could easily be painted on existing tennis courts
