Integrate trail systems for cyclists and pedestrians.
I haven't used my bicycle since I moved here 10 years ago because I don't want to ride on high-traffic roads. It would be great if there were more trails that could link up so it's posslble to ride through the city without using the busiest roads. If that were possible I think more people would use their bicycle to get to work instead of a car. Win-win!

We’re working hard to expand our network of bike lanes and trails within Oakville. Our Switching Gears Transportation Master Plan offers a variety of travel options in Oakville. Did you know that we have over 105 kilometres of on- and off-road cycling paths in town? Learn more about our cycling network by visiting http://www.oakville.ca/residents/cycling-routes.html

Where possible, it would be better for bikers of all ages if bike paths were beside sidewalks using the city boulevards rather then designated road bike paths.
